José Corbalán

Today I took José Corbalán to his home after the Doctors gave him the permission to return there. It was incredible to be at his house, sitting with his family around the table and praying for him before leaving. Now they wait for my visit next week. Praise God for this door open wide! And yes! I am doing things with one hand :) Pam, Megan and Makenzy, thank you for your prayers and comments, they are very very encouraging to us.

Lucas in the Hospital

Thanks God for Bible verses like Romans 8:28, because while I have my arm useless, Silvina has a very painful "plantar wart" and Lucas had a surgery and now is in the Hospital. The Doctors thought he had "appendicities" because all the symptoms, but it was only a Mesenteric Adenitis (a self-limited inflammatory process that affects the mesenteric lymph nodes in the right lower quadrant. Its clinical presentation mimics that of acute appendicitis and is most frequently caused by viral pathogens). Lucas is now doing well and God is helping him to recover.
But while at the Hospital we met José Corvalán who is in the same room. He's very interested in the Gospel and also her daughter who was there today for visiting. They live in a town named Ingeniero Huergo and they seem to be almost ready for a visit next week. Pray that God would open that door for a future group there. Most of the family went out from mormon church because they became tired for lack of Bible in their faith... More tomorrow.

Regina under a thick cloud

This time was not the volcano, but the rainest days that we faced last week...

Visiting families

It is good to visit families of the church in their own homes. That was the case with Riquelme family and Edi Gonzalez. While you share the Word in the church for the benefit of everyone, at homes you can share it in a more particular way. Pray for us as we face the need to help everyone in a specific way so that they would be shinning for Christ in their own neighborhoods.

The effects of the Chaitén Volcano in our city

Antonio will have a catheterism next Friday

A catheter is a flexible tube made of latex, silicone, or Teflon that can be inserted into the body creating a channel for the passage of fluid or the entry of a medical device. In Antonio's case that will be doing in his heart next Friday. It seems a very simple surgery but in Antonio's situation it doesn't. Pray for him. Please be praying that Silvina would have wisdom in the following days. Her sister Claudia es now with her. Silvina is very tired and exhausted and missing the children and they are missing her too, not to say about me... But, we know that we're doing God's will honoring our parents. So, pray for us that that will encourage us a lot during this week.

I think you would enjoy this video

I know that this is a serious blog :) but I think that you would enjoy this video. It would make you to watch your words!

LEADERSHIP TRAINING...AND BBQ!

Today we took advantage of May 1st to have fellowship and for the examining of Biblical truths about leadership. We have been using a couple of notes given to me by pastor Tom Gibbons, the same ones that we used years ago in our UCB Camp in Paysandú, Uruguay.
The issues that we studied were:

1. The Importance of Leadership preparation
2. Plural Leadership is Biblical without any question
3. The hindrances to leadership preparation:

a. Lack of Men
b. Lack of Faithful Men
c. Lack of faithful wives to the faithful men

4. The Offices in the Church

a. Elders, Pastors, Overseers
b. Deacons

The activity began at 10:30 am and ended at 6:00 pm. As you can see, not only we had a wonderful time of training but also a very good time of fellowship enjoying BBQ! Wow! That time of fellowship while waiting the meat to be ready, singing, talking and playing spiritual songs and drinking mate (national drinking) O! how we love that time!
