FEBRUARY NEWS - VILLA REGINA

1.Please pray for Delia, a lady in the church whose car was in an accident while the church people were driving to a family camp in Chile at the beginning of February. Ricardo says he saw the accident through the mirror on his car and that it was a miracle nothing happened to the four people in the car because it almost fell through a bridge fifty feet in the air. They are praying that the car can be fixed in Chile, but Delia doesn’t have much money for it since her husband left her and she has a lot of troubles with their unsaved, grown children who live in her home. Ricardo thanks the Lord that Delia was still able to participate in the family camp and that it was a great blessing to her.

2. Ricardo thanks God for the way He blessed all the families that were able to go to the family camp in Chile (425 miles away from Villa Regina). Pray that all the fruit that he saw in them there will prevail and grow every day.

3. Please pray for guidance for Ricardo and Silvina’s daughter Carolina, who is 23. She will be in the United States to visit the man she hopes to marry. The Daglios praise the Lord for a work of grace in her life.

4. Please keep praying regarding their church building. They have three months left to get the money for the purchase or they will have to move to another place. Finally, pray for new souls for this year and for the provision for the continuing of the teaching of the Word on a verse-by-verse basis.

October News from Villa Regina

Thanksgiving

1. Ricardo is presently teaching through Genesis, Nehemiah, and Acts verse by verse and says it has become a great blessing for the church and especially for his personal life. Pray that the church would appreciate even more the importance of verse-by-verse Bible teaching.

2. José, the young man Ricardo visits on a weekly basis, has confessed faith in Christ. Ricardo says they are waiting for the proofs of his verbal profession of faith.

3. A lady named Kati called Ricardo the other day because she wanted to be assured from the Scriptures that she is a Christian. Kati lost her brother in a motorcycle accident one month ago. She began to witness to her family as soon as this happened, and Ricardo believes she understands the gospel through the grace of God.

 Prayer requests

1. Please continue to pray that the money will come in so that they can purchase the building where the church is meeting. They can rent it until June 2013.

2. Pray that God would bring more young people into the church as a result of the witness and testimony of the young people in their schools. At present, Ricardo has just two teens in the youth meetings, one boy and one girl.

3. Pray also for strong marriage relationships in the church. The church needs strong families that would be clear witnesses in their own neighborhoods.

August Prayer Requests

The church in Villa Regina has begun a verse-by-verse study of the book of Genesis. The people are excited about the study, and news about it is spreading in the neighbourhood around the church. Ricardo says people are searching for a place that will teach them the meaning of the Word of God. Pray that many souls will be added to God’s kingdom as a result of the faithful presenting of the truth.
The Daglios thank God for doing a work of grace in their daughter Carolina, who is 23. She is now filling her life and heart with the Word and is committed to living for the Lord. Please continue to pray that the Lord will work in the heart of their son, Lucas (21). Ricardo says Lucas seems to be realizing the emptiness of life without Christ, but he is still away from the Saviour.
As a result of the retail work that Silvina is doing, the Daglios are making many new contacts and are having many opportunities to share Christ with people. Pray that God would use this new activity, not only to help with their financial needs, but especially to reach many souls for Christ.
Please continue to pray regarding the church’s need to purchase the building it is presently renting. The church will have to either buy the building or move by May 2013. They need approximately $90,000 US to buy it. Ricardo says, “We know that the church consists of living stones, but a building of our own property will help [us] to gather together in one place.”
Please also pray for the salvation of José and Vanessa, a couple Ricardo is visiting every Wednesday. They are very interested in knowing God. Finally, pray that God would strengthen and confirm the believers so that they will have the kind of commitment they will need in order to serve the Lord in the days ahead.

Doing Evangelism door by door - Haciendo Evangelismo puerta a puerta

Several months ago we started visiting our neighborhood placing literature and gospel tracts in many homes. We're able to start again soon as the Summer has gone in this part of the world and it is a better weather to start visiting. Pray for us and for good relationship with the people around the church.

Praying for the building - Orando por el local

We found a place for the moving of the church. It's for renting but it is (we believe) a provision from the Lord! Pray that the final papers that are delayed to be ready for the renting.

If I were a pastor - Si yo fuera pastor

“If I were a pastor, I would want to preach in the spirit of the New Covenant, inviting everyone in the congregation to see the heart of God revealed in the cross of Christ. I would encourage them to interpret all of life’s hardships not as problems to fix or struggles to relieve or pain to deaden, but as important elements in a larger story that all God’s children long to tell. I would urge them to accept wherever they are on the journey, whether happy or miserable, as the place where God will meet them, where He loves them, where He will continue to work in them. And I would offer my own life as a growing, struggling, sometimes painfully unattractive example of what doing that might mean. I would beg God to deliver me from Calvary-denying sermons, which leave people feeling scolded and pressured….I would ask God to never let me again preach an Eden-denying message where psychological insights replace biblical wisdom in a misguided effort to repair emotional damage when the real problem is a serpent-inspired determination to experience life without God. ” Larry Crabb

Larrry Crabb

When God works in the heart -Cuando Dios obra en el corazón

Last Sunday (Feb.13th), was the Evening Service with less people we ever had since we serve in Villa Regina (only 12). Many on vacation and others, as always, with lack of commitment. It was (to my opinion) the worst sermon I ever preached, plus, bad health and discouraged for several reasons. I preached on Mk.8:34 "Self Denial and the calling of Jesus." After the service and while I were putting my twelve strings guitar inside its box, Araceli (10) (picture), came to me, tears in her eyes, deep conviction and she said: "Pastor, did mom share with you about my situation?" I said, yes. "Well, I know I am a sinner, I sinned against God and I know I don't have Christ, nor His salvation." I explained to her that "praying" would not save her, but Christ yes. So she bowed her head and called on the Lord herself, asking for forgiveness and help to face several situations on the following weeks. After she prayed, she called her mother, hugged her and wept over her shoulders a lot. She went weeping all the way back home and there, she asked her father for forgiveness and also to her little sister. Praise the Lord! He is good. Araceli is now having discipleship and is enjoying memorizing Bible verses during the week. Pray for his father (Miguel) that he would come to Christ. So, God is good and sovereign always!
