Last Sunday (Feb.13th), was the Evening Service with less people we ever had since we serve in Villa Regina (only 12). Many on vacation and others, as always, with lack of commitment. It was (to my opinion) the worst sermon I ever preached, plus, bad health and discouraged for several reasons. I preached on Mk.8:34 "Self Denial and the calling of Jesus." After the service and while I were putting my twelve strings guitar inside its box, Araceli (10) (picture), came to me, tears in her eyes, deep conviction and she said: "Pastor, did mom share with you about my situation?" I said, yes. "Well, I know I am a sinner, I sinned against God and I know I don't have Christ, nor His salvation." I explained to her that "praying" would not save her, but Christ yes. So she bowed her head and called on the Lord herself, asking for forgiveness and help to face several situations on the following weeks. After she prayed, she called her mother, hugged her and wept over her shoulders a lot. She went weeping all the way back home and there, she asked her father for forgiveness and also to her little sister. Praise the Lord! He is good. Araceli is now having discipleship and is enjoying memorizing Bible verses during the week. Pray for his father (Miguel) that he would come to Christ. So, God is good and sovereign always!

El Domingo pasado (Feb. 13) fue el Culto Vespertino con menos gente que hayamos tenido desde que estamos en Villa Regina (sólo 12). Muchos de vacaciones y otros, como siempre, con falta de compromiso. Fue (en mi opinión) el peor mensaje que he predicado, sumándole mi mal estado de salud y desaliento por diversas razones. Prediqué sobre Mr. 8:34 "Negarse a sí mismo y el llamado de Jesús." Luego del culto, y mientras yo guardaba mi guitarra en su estuche, Araceli (10) (foto) se me acercó, con lágrimas y profunda convicción diciendo: "Pastor, mamá le contó sobre mi situación?" Le dije que sí. "Bien, sé que soy pecadora, he pecado contra Dios en gran manera y sé que no tengo a Cristo ni la salvación." Le expliqué que "orar" no la iba a salvar, pero sí Cristo. Agachó su cabeza y clamó al Señor, pidiendo perdón por sus pecados y rogando ayuda para las diversas pruebas que enfrentaría en la semana. Luego de orar, llamó a su mamá y lloró pidiendo perdón sobre sus hombros. Regresó a su casa llorando todo el camino y pidió perdón a su papá y a su hermanita. Alabado sea el Señor! El es bueno. Araceli está siendo discipulada y disfruta memorizar versículos en la semana. Oren por su padre (Miguel) que pueda llegar a Cristo. Dios es bueno y soberano, siempre!

We give thanks to God for this new opportunity He has given to us as a family and church to start (after a time of prayer and survey) a new Bible Study 28 miles west from Villa Regina. The name of the city is General Roca and it has about 120.000 people (Villa Regina has 45.000. For now, we're gathering every other Friday with one family (the owners of the house) and some who come along with us from Villa Regina. We believe that God is leading us for some more in the future. Thank you for your prayers. We know we are always supported through them. God is good and he's blessing the Word that is being given in different ways. May He continue to help us serve Him with all our hearts and strength. Here are several prayer issues:

1. Pray for Rojas family - they came last Sunday night to our service. They are from a very strong Catholic background but they're seeking the truth.

2. Pray for Youth group that the Lord would rise among them those who want to commit their lives for serving.

3. Pray for a piece of land for church property. We think the Lord did open a door for a place and we have started to talk with the owner to see how much is he selling it. Some pictures of the place here, one is taken from Google Earth. If that is the place, we will have to pull down the old place you see in the picture. The place is huge and adequate for our needs. This would be Proyect 1.

4. Pray for our Sunday School teachers. We lack some and is not easy to evaluate the needs without them.

5. Pray for our future Christmas program. This year we pray that God would guide us to do something outdoor.

Gracias por sus oraciones. Sabemos que somos sostenidos por medio de ellas. Dios es bueno y está bendiciendo la Palabra enseñada en diferentes maneras. Que El nos ayude a continuar sirviéndole con todo el corazón y fuerzas. Aquí hay algunos motivos de oración:

1. Oren por la famila Rojas. Llegaron el domingo por primera vez y con un profundo trasfondo católico, sin embargo, están buscando conocer la verdad.

2. Oren por el grupo de jóvenes. Que Dios levante entre ellos algunos con compromiso para servirle.

3. Oren por una propiedad para la iglesia. Creemos que Dios ha abierto un puerta importante. hemos comenzado a hablar con el dueño para saber sus pretensiones. Aquí hay algunas fotos y una tomada con Google Earth. Si el Señor nos provee para ello, tendremos que derribar la construcción vieja que se ve en la foto. El lugar es inmenso y apto para nuestras necesidades. Esto sería el Proyecto 1.

4. Oren por los maestros de Escuela Dominical. La falta de los mismos impide evaluar correctamente las necesidades.

5. Oren por el programa de Navidad. Este año pensamos hacer algo al aire libre.

During September in Spanish speaking countries is celebrated the Bible's month - it has to do with the first imprint of a Spanish Bible in 1569. We use the opportunity to strengthen the need to read, love and treasure the Bible. In this occasion we're memorizing Ephesians 6:10-18 at Sunday School, and learning in a graphic way what does it mean in spiritual language for us. The kids enjoy watching our brother Balsovino wearing the "armor of God." Each Sunday is a different part to be teached.

Durante el mes de Setiembre se celebra el mes de la Biblia en todos los paises de habla hispana debido a que en 1569 se imprimió la Biblia en español por primera vez. Nosotros utilizamos esta oportunidad para fortalecer la idea de la importancia de leer, amar y atesorar la Biblia. En esta ocasión estamos memorizando Efesios 6:10-18 en la Escuela Dominical, y aprendiendo de manera gráfica qué significa para nosotros esta porción en lenguaje espiritual. Los niños disfrutan viendo a nuestro hermano Balsovino ser vestido con la "armadura de Dios." Cada domingo una parte distinta es enseñada.

Every year we gather together for a lunch with the church after Sunday School. You can see in the pictures a typical food cooked in a disc plow. It is really a very delicious food... We enjoyed the fellowship around the table.

It is always a wonderful and a blessed experience a new discipleship. Victor came to know the Lord a few weeks ago, although he assisted to the church for some years. Now we're gathering together every Friday to read the book "The Stranger" that is a great tool for every christian, new and mature. Please, be praying for Victor. He's very busy not only at his work but also attending his mother who is in a wheelchair.

Siempre es una maravillosa y bendecida experiencia comenzar un nuevo disciplulado. Victor llegó a conocer a Cristo hace unas semanas, aunque ya asisitía a la iglesia por algunos años. It has been a joy and a privilege to participate of a Pastor's Conference with the topic of Bible Exposition. It is an urgent need for today's pulpits to recover Bible Exposition. It was a wonderful privilege to listen to Pastor Henry Tolopilo, spanish pastor of Grace Community Church, that is John MacArthur's church. Pray that God would help us to continue in a faithful preaching that emerge from a deep undesrtanding of the Word of God and from a life that keeps in touch with His Spirit to be able to preach the whole counsel of God.

Fue un gozo y privilegio participar en una Conferencia de Pastores con el tema de la Exposición Bíblica. Es una necesidad urgente en los púlpitos de hoy el hecho de recuperar la Predicación Expositiva. We had a nice service that included the dedication of Alma Tello. It is always an opportunity to share our faith and our beliefs on what the Bible says about rearing children. We had new ones that came to listen the Word and to participate in the dedication service. Pray for a lady whose name is Clara, she seemed to be concerned about finding the Truth. She has a Seventh Adventism background, but still is looking for the Truth.

Yesterday evening, Cristian came to know the Lord as personal Savior. Cristian (left side in the picture) is Ariel's co-worker (right side). Ariel shared with him about his faith in Christ weeks and months ago. Cristian began to assit to the church with Victoria, with whom he has a baby. Yesterday I was invited to visit them at home and after reading several Bible verses and explained the Gospel, Cristian became a new born man! Praise God! It was awsome to us also to hear how many people has been praying for us. It was a tough year without space and specialy for Silvina. Now we trust the Lord, who gave us this house, that He will provide for every need in the following months. We're still in the old house until everything is fixed there, details, etc, but the moving will be soon, this week. I will post some pictures at our website in due time. Dear ones,
Thank you for your prayers. We made a great trip to Chile with my son Lucas. Several things should be mention now.
1. The wonderful time we spent together as father-son. Lucas needed it in a special way.
2. God's providence during the whole trip crossing the Andes and His wisdom in several decisions we had to make.
3. During Family Camp I felt God's hand helping me to teach 10 times during the whole week. I saw His blessed hand over the listeners and He helped me to share the word. I thank God for seeing His work in the lives of many present there.
4. But, in a special way, I have to thank God for being a first hand spectator of the work he did in our son Lucas. God spoke to his heart in such a way that he's now seeking God to please Him. His interest in the Bible is growing up and in serving him too. We sang together as we went back to our church. Praise God for His mercies!
5. Thank you for continue to pray for a place for our church and a place for our home. We need the second one in a special way. We don't know how the Lord will provide but we know for sure that He will!
6. Be praying for Micaela's and Carolina's test this and next week.

1. Trip to Chile for teaching at a Family Camp next week. Lucas and I will go together.

3. Carolina's test at University in two weeks.
4. Micaela's test at High School in two weeks.
5. Lucas' spiritual life is in a blessed turning point. Also, he got his title as a Fireman here in Villa Regina.
6. For a house. We still are waiting in God. Rent is too expensive. Praying to buy something if the Lord provides for that.
7. Church Building. We still pray for a property. We would like to have our own.

We had this wonderful privilege of having Pastor Scott Brackett visiting us at Villa Regina. As well as the last 6 years while in Salto, now, Pastor Scott came for special meetings. The church enjoyed the preaching of the Word and the fellowship. Scott was our youth pastor years ago. Thanks for coming friend! We sang together and went "fishing" with our brother Balso and his son Fernando, but nothing happened... just some good weather, sun and fresh wind.

Please, be praying that God would enable me to "rightly divide" the word of truth, and for the ladies, that they would recieve "the implanted word with meekness." Because in that month the first Spanish Bible was imprinted in the 18th century, it is rememberd as the Bible's month. So we took advantage of this to teach at Sunday School Opening about the importance of the Bible. Last Sunday my wife has prepared a Big Bible and inside it, we put some items that represent the Word of God (Mirror, Honey, Milk, Growing seed, etc) Taking out each one at a time, we asked to some different children and adults to read Bible verses where that truth were explained... Nice time seen children faces as they look at the Big Bible! May God allow them to remember it till the end of their lives.

We began last Saturday studying the conversion of Paul. We talked about "How a servant is born" They had a Study Guide and then came the sermon on the whole issue. After that they did a "little act of service" reparing the songbooks and adding some new songs to them. We have been invited to share the Word with youth, couples and the whole church on Sunday. Please, be praying for us as we have to go across the Andes and the weather is not good and although we're going by bus, danger is always present. We thank God for the Jofré family who is still receiving discipleship we began four months ago when we arrived to Villa Regina. They live almost five miles away from Regina and the weather is not always the best to arrive there, like today. We're in a very unusual weather here with rain and humidity as you see in the pictures. Please, be praying for Verónica, the oldest daughter of the family who still doesn't have Christ in her life. Thank you for your prayers.

James 1:2-3... and Taxi crash!

As I am teaching the book of James at Sunday School Class and Silvina is teaching about trials at the Women meeting, we still continue to face trials and we thank God for His wisdom and for His ways. Last Saturday, as our son Lucas (17) was driving to get more practise to get his license, we crash to a taxi. Because I was not the one driving although I was besides him, the insurance company would not pay anything. The policeman there told me that "nobody saw anything, you were the one driving," I told him that that was not the truth and that I will take the responsability of the situation. The taxi driver and everybody around there would not understand my position. But, after five days, today I gave the whole money to that man (a lot of money that God provided in his mercy). When he was leaving, he told me: " I am glad that I had the chance to know you. There are not people like you around here." So I testified him again and also to the repair man who is going to do the work in his car. I pray that Mario Sánchez (61) would come one day to listen to the Word to our church. Please, be praying for Lucas because he was very upset for the situation. We pray that God would allow him to learn a good lesson for his spiritual life.

A Cold Day in Villa Regina - Independence Day in Argentina

A few days ago, my friend and pastor Colby Holmes, told me about the book of E.M.Bounds "Power through Prayer" that he's is using in the preparation for ministry with one of the young man of his church. The book can be downloaded free from internet. I made a couple of copies to give to the men of the church, and yesterday we began its reading at the Men meeting along with prayer and before the using of the DVD series that we are considering about Church growth. Now these brothers want to have the session every week. The time with them was wonderful. We pray that God would help us to shape everyone in the image of Christ. Here some pics of the activity.

Thank you for waiting until this new post. My trip to Bs. As. was nice, especially because of my time with my daugther Carolina. I wasn't able to see her since March. She's doing fine and studying.
Back in Villa Regina I began to teach on Christian Character. It's a tremendous issue to teach about. While many churches value the quality of it's members because of spiritual gifts, God is looking forward to see his children with much Christlikeness instead of capacities. That was the case in Acts 6 with the first deacons. They were men of character. So, that will be the theme for the church the next weeks. Teaching about Christlikeness and then Spiritual Gifts. Be praying for:
1. More committed believers.
2. Understanding of what it means "Faithfulness" in the mark of Biblical teaching.
3. That God would give us wisdom in future decisions regarding teachers, leaders, etc.

Praying for a house

We would appreciate your prayers for us regarding the need of a house. As the Lord brings you to mind, please be praying that the Lord will provide a house to buy. We're longing for a house where we can, not only have the basic things, but also a place where we can receive visits, missionaries and pastors that would eventually come for visiting. This is a great step of faith in our ministry because we had never thought about this before. It is not that we are not thinking of renting a house, but we feel that God is able to provide our own. Thank you.
