Nose Surgery

I would appreciate your prayers on my behalf (Ricardo) due a surgery that I will have next August the 2nd. It will be a Septoplasty: The goal of the surgery is to straighten out the nasal septum or to relieve obstructions or other problems related to deviation of the septum.

An incision is made internally on one side of the nasal septum. The mucous membrane is lifted away from the cartilage and bone, obstructive parts are removed or repositioned as necessary, and plastic surgery is performed as necessary. Then, the mucous membrane is returned to its original position. The tissues covering the septum are held in place by either stitches or packing.

Praise God for a Wonderful Youth Retreat!

Dear ones, thank you for all your support in prayer regarding our Youth Retreat. This was the biggest one we had. Almost 100 young people came to hear the Word. About 10 came to know the Lord and many others did a commitment to seek the Lord's face. We had a lack of matress! We pray that God will provide for our next Camp in our Summer (January) for meet the needs that we are facing right now.
The preacher centered his messages on actual needs of the young people, using Bible verses as Jeremiah 6:16 - "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein," to teach them about the need to stop and meditate upon the direction and goals in youth christian life. Also, he talked about other issues like motivation in Christian life; the importance of seek the Lord for all we plan ahead; dating, etc. Finally, he did a wonderful call to all to love the Lord with all their hearts and talked about the very known passage of John 21 "So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs."
We also had a team from United States who came to serve along and they were very excited to help us with the games, testimonies and music.
In addition to all this, we had three nights seeing the movie "End of the Spear" the story of the five missionaries dead in Ecuador. The movie, plus the commentaries and calling, did a deep work in the hearts of many youth.
Please, pray with us that God would continue to do the work in all these hearts as we continue to disciple them through the following months ahead. Enjoy some pictures!
Lord bless.

Meet "Doña Paula" - The oldest sister in Christ of our Church

Doña Paula is the oldest sister in our church. She's not being able to come now because of her health that is not doing well. She's 87 and she knows the Lord since she was 40. Doña Paula is wonderful woman; she's always praising the Lord for His mercies toward her and she says she's ready to go to meet Him in Heaven. If you visit her, you always will get from her much more than you can share with her. Doña Paula will pray for you and will remember you in her daily prayers. She knows the Scriptures and while in the church she would come to you after the service and would tell you how much she was blessed hearing the Word. Yesterday we celebrate Holy Supper with her besides her bed. She enjoyed the time and she praised the Lord as we shared with her that wonderful time. Please, be praying for her, because of her age, doctors can't do much for help. She has some stomach pains daily and they did all the medical studies and can't find anything. Also, they can't give her many medicine because it would cause in her much more problems. Thank you for your time reading about and praying for our beloved sister.
