Children in Sunday School

Sunday School is quite different in South America than in the US. Here are two instances of our gathering children to come to S. School. Jorge, one of the men of the church would come every Sunday morning early to go with our van to the different homes of the children. After 45 minutes we have all the kids ready to start classes. Pray that God would keep the van safely every Sunday and bless the lives of these children as they listen faithfuly to the Word.

Continue to pray for the Moreiras...

Yesterday afternoon I went visiting the Moreiras. It was a good time talking about several things. But, for the first time, they began to make questions about different issues. One of them that always arise for the most part visiting in catholic countries is what do we think about the virgin Mary. It is a great opportunity to explain about our belief in the authority of the Bible as the inspired Word of God. That we need to trust in what is written there. So yesterday I opened the Bible and took time to read with them several verses about what is the place that the Bible gives to the mother of Jesus in the Bible. It is always good to see how the Word makes its work in the heart and conscience of the people. Please, be praying for them as they began to ponder about the importance of a changing of mind while they see what is the truth as it is revealed in the Bible.

Pray for this family: The Moreiras

The Moreira family is coming to Sunday Evening services every week. We're also going to visit them to their house. They are very kind and they always are waiting for me with "mate" (national drink - I still owe you a picture!). We take time to read the Word and share with them the Gospel. Their sons: Agustín (12) and Mariana (10) are coming to our Sunday School since 4 years ago. Now Benito and Iris (parents) are coming and we're praying for their salvation and you can pray along with us.

Teens' Update!!!!

Dear friends, thanks for your dear patience while waiting for this new post. We had our first teens’ meeting. It was very good; they were expecting that time and we thank God for the opportunity not only to serve them, but for seeing the believers who made a commitment to serve in this area ready to be in the activity. Some of the youth began to minister with the music, others with the teaching and memorizing of Bible verses; while others were doing ice-breaking games and some food and snacks for the teens. We had a very nice time in the Word; we focused on Philippians 4:8 and we talked about “The Battle of the Mind,” as we understand the importance on keeping our minds and eyes on the right things, the Lord is ready to help us with his Spirit. Talking about the mind is an interesting and important issue. We made a comparison with a CD that you can use to store much information that you cannot take out once it is inside; so is the mind. We have to be very careful what we put inside our minds. So the Lord gave us a very important list in Phil. 4:8 to be aware of what we have to be looking for in order to give the glory to God in every area of our life.
